AUT204
This real component-based trainer provides students and instructors with the opportunity to demonstrate and investigate the operation of a typical automotive braking system.
The trainer is designed to allow access to disc and drum brake components,
as well as providing the opportunity to understand the operation of the hydraulic circuit.
The Trainer Includes The Following Components:
• Handbrake assembly
• Diagonally split hydraulic circuit
• Master cylinder
• Brake uid reservoir
• Brake pedal and light
• Front hubs, discs and calipers
• Rear hubs and drums
Typical Practical Tasks Include:
•Friction brake theory
•Drum brake components and operation
•Disc brake components and operation
•Caliper servicing
•Disc measurement and inspection
•Handbrake components and operation Remove, clean, and inspect brake shoes, springs, pins, clips, levers, adjusters, and backing support plates
•Remove, clean, inspect, and measure brake drums
•Remove, inspect, and install wheel cylinders
•Pre-adjust brake shoes and handbrake Mount brake drum on lathe; machine braking surface
•Remove, clean, and inspect pads and retaining hardware
•Remove, clean, inspect, disassemble, reassemble, lubricate, and reinstall caliper assembly Clean, inspect, and measure brake disc with a micrometer
•Remove and replace brake disc
•Check handbrake cables and components for wear, rusting, binding, and corrosion
•Adjust calipers with integrated handbrake system
•Diagnose poor stopping, noise, pulling, grabbing, dragging, or pedal pulsation concerns
